About the Designer

Returning to Australia after an upbringing in Hong Kong, Livia settled in Melbourne where she has now resided for the past 8 years. After completing a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science at Melbourne University, Livia could no longer ignore her creative calling and enrolled to study fashion at RMIT. Debuting her first collection Pipe Dream at L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival in March 2011, her label has gained critical acclaim and is now stocked throughout Victoria and interstate. Livia works out of her home studio in Carlton, and prides herself on taking an end to end approach to the creative process - managing the design, patternmaking, sampling, grading and graphic design herself.

About the Product

The label’s focus is on intelligent adaptations of classic styles. Livia’s sources of inspiration are many and varied, drawing on experiences and nostalgia as well as her everyday surrounds. She enjoys observing how her designs develop throughout the creative process, some being exact realisations of her initial sketches and others morphing wonderfully into near unrecognisable beings. The label takes pride in producing well constructed garments made locally in Melbourne. Carefully sourced fabrics and exquisite unexpected details lead to collections tailored to impart luxury in the everyday.

Philosophy on Style

A desire to create basics that aren’t so basic as at the core of the label’s philosophy. It’s a belief that well made clothes last for season after season, and that subtle and intriguing details in the design make them favourites amongst the wearer’s wardrobe.
